Along with the rapid development of the social economy and the increasingly fierce competition, it's getting harder for enterprises to earn sustainable profits by only applying control of production costs and expansion of sales volume. Logistics gets unprecedented attention for its enormous potentiality in earning competition advantage for enterprises. Logistics is a critical part of enterprise production and operations, whereas warehouse management occupies the core position of logistics management. Warehouse management directly affects the success or failure of production and material management system, and therefore affects enterprises' overall level of quality, efficiency, cost and safety. It's a critical constituent of enterprises' competitive strength.The G warehouse of L Company is selected as the research objective of this paper. Status of the warehouse layout, warehouse work process, and warehouse management regulations are introduced and analyzed. Regard to the problems existed in these aspects, corresponding optimization solutions are worked out on basis of applying relevant theories and methods, such as “SLP”, “ABC analysis”, “5S”, and “ECRSI”, etc.After optimization, the layout of G warehouse becomes more reasonable, utilization rate of both floor and space are increased, the work processes are simplified and smoother, and the warehouse management level and staff performance are improved significantly.The paper not only solves the problems G warehouse used to face, but also will be a reference for management optimization of L Company's other warehouses.
