Implementation Of Cost Module Information System Of Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. On The Basis Of Oracle EBS

Information has. not only been an important factor in economic development, but also a strong driving force in social and economic development in today's world. As one of the pillar industries in China's national economy, great efforts have been made by the central government and iron and steel enterprises in promoting the informationalization construction within the iron and steel industry. In view of the diversified product lines, complicated production technologies and massive raw materials, fuels and auxiliary materials involved with the iron and steel industry in China, the financial costs accounting has become one of the principal measures in supervising overall production and operation processes of an enterprise. Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. is committed to optimizing its financial accounting system and improving related accounting efficiency by adopting and implementing the integrated informationalization in its financial accounting system. The production and operation performance indexes indicated in the financial accounting data are recognized as authentic, accurate and consistent. During its informationalization construction process, Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. has at the same time also intensified mutual communication between diverse levels of administrative departments and enhanced its supervision and management upon different functional departments, thereby promoting its comprehensive and sound development.Analyzing the basic procedures and current conditions of its financial costs accounting system and related problems involved, as well as taking the case of informationalization concerning Oracle ERP financial costs accounting modules as reference, we find out the standard functions of the Oracle ERP financial costs accounting modules could not satisfy corresponding cost accounting demands of Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. Our project team in Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. has designed a tailor-made solution based upon the Oracle EBS system which is in conformity with financial costs accounting demands of Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. This solution could also be applied to any financial costs accounting systems utilized by other iron and steel enterprises with similar costs accounting conditions to Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd.Based upon the flexible and open Oracle EBS system, we have designed and developed a tailor-made solution for Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. This paper analyzes at first why the OPM financial costs accounting standard modules could not satisfy financial costs accounting demands of Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd., then demonstrates how to design and develop the personalized system interfaces, including the fundamental configuration, statistical data recording and financial costs accounting interfaces, and consolidate the financial accounting data into financial statements in order to satisfy its financial costs accounting demands. And in addition, this paper will also make an introduction to functional design of some featured and pivotal financial accounting business of Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. in details.This characteristic informationalization construction project designed for and implemented in Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd., which is a typical example for the personalized system developed based on Oracle EBS to be utilized in such a steel enterprise, started from August 2014 and will be put into service in August 2016. The author is looking forward to provide a reference for China's iron and steel industry in further promoting its overall informationalization construction by analyzing and demonstrating this typical case.
