Application Of Lean Six Sigma In Company TSX

Auto parts Injection industry is an important part of the development of automobile industry. With China's increasing demand for cars, this industry has great prospects of development. Because it has strengths of lightness, low cost, simple process and hardness, auto part injection industry has been widely used as a substitution of metal parts.Under the pressure of competition of market and rising of production costs, auto parts enterprises have to find an effective way, to improve product quality and production efficiency, reduce production and operating costs, so as to enhance the overall strength of the enterprise itself. Lean Six Sigma is currently recognized as the most effective tool to improve the production efficiency and product quality of enterprises.During routine production, TSX Company found that customer refund rate of certain car fuel tank cap had stayed at a high level for surface deformation. Aiming at the product defect, the company has set up Lean Six Sigma Project Team to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control key influence factors of product quality and production efficiency with the use of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC method.Through using relevant tools of Lean Six Sigma and analyzing productive process of fuel tank cap products, the Project Team found that such three technological parameters as forming pressure, set time, and die temperature are main factors for product deformation. In the improvement phase, these three parameters are modified and their effectiveness is verified with the use of orthogonal experimental design. After improved implementations, Project Team modified relevant quality documents to solidify results. Finally, the project team members achieved the expected purpose with joint efforts.At last, it summarizes TSX Company's experience of running Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology in the process of improvement, and provides some advice to other enterprise the implementation of Lean Six Sigma project.
