The aim of Smart Power Integrated Circuit(SPIC)is combining Power-driven device and signal control.With the progress of BCD technology,the Smart Power Integrated Circuit obtains a rapid development.Three-phase motor driver is one of the typical application of Smart Power Integrated Circuit,which has efficient and reliable driving mode and has become the important purpose of driven integration chip design and research,having been widely used in the aerospace,automotive electronics and other fields.The IC of three-phase motor driver designed by 1?m 600 V BCD technology platform is adopted in this paper.The output voltage amplitude of the chip is from 10 V to 20 V and the output current peak is 2A,furthermore,delay matching of high side and low side is 30 ns.The Chip contains protection module,high-side pulse generation module,high-side filtering module,high & low-side driver module,low delay module and so on.Also,the chip uses the half-bridge driver circuit with high level shifter and high voltage isolation technique,which has mature technology and high reliability in the circuit.The structure and drive principal of three-phase brushless DC fan motor is introduced firstly in this paper,and determining the main frame and the design index of the circuit,apart from that,declaring the key technologies applied in the design of drive circuit.Then the working principles of the circuit submodules are introduced and we verify the correct function of these submodules by several analog simulations.Using the Hspice simulation software verifies the operating state of the whole circuit under different temperature and every corner after completing the submodules analysis and design.Next,the layout of the circuit is presented,and the consideration of the reliability about Place & Route,ESD protection and so on in the process of layout design are briefly described.After the layout is drawn,the extracted network table which contains RC parameters is post-simulation verification analyzed,and the problems in the post-simulation stage are optimized.When the chip production is completed,the prototype sample test results and the results of the trial of customers are given.This paper are described according to the order of the wole process of chip design,which contains the circuit design and analysis,pre-simulation verification and optimization,layout design and post-simulation verification and optimization,packaging of the prototype sample and testing.Through the IC theory analysis and the verification of EDA simulation tools and the testing of chip prototype,the driver chip of three-phase motor is verified to be reliable.
