An Analysis Of The Tracing Program From The Perspective Of Ritual

In April 15 of 2014,‘wait for me',the grand public non-profit tracing program was published by CCTV-1.Unlike other variety entertainment programs,‘wait for me' is committed to offering help and support for supplicant to find someone they missed by gathering the power of crowds on a nationwide platform and devoted itself to reproducing good feelings of the world.Why the program is highly recognized and praised by the society from the very beginning is worth to study and discuss.Based on the video and text data of the program,this paper analyzes the ritual of people finding program by qualitative methods such as content analysis and text analysis combined with interdisciplinary background of semiology and sociology in the theoretical perspective of ritual.There are six parts in the paper: the introduction part contains the background,significance and method of the research;the second part consists of the theoretical framework of the paper and theoretical background.Besides,the literature review about the program ‘wait for me' and television ritual is also represented in this part which analyzes the necessity to introduce the perspective of ritual in the analysis of ‘wait for me' program;The third part introduces some basic profile of the program and considers that the program situation which is under clearly control provides basement for introducing the perspective of ritual with some analysis from the perspective of creation background,procedure setting and audience feedback;In the fourth part,taking ‘wait for me' as study object,elements that television tracing ritual is consisted are analyzed in four dimensions,which are ritual space,ritual script,ritual role and ritual audience;The fifth part studies one episode of the program by the text analysis method and represents the integrated process of television tracing ritual;The sixth part discusses the representation of people finder grogram,elaborates the outstanding contributions of television tracing ritual in maintaining the harmony and stability of the society and constructing the core value.
