Design And Application Of Gansu Unicom IMS Network System

IMS is a general architectural framework that provides IP multimedia services.It can seperate control functions form service layers,provide a standardized service platform for various service.It has been considered as a core technology for achieving telecom network convergence and service convergence on a global scale.In order to solve the problems of Gansu Unicom's slow growth of fixed network users,aging of PSTN network equipment,high port occupancy rate,and high energy consumption of equipment,it is necessary to carry out necessary transformations to existing communication networks in order to enhance the company's core competitiveness and value creativity.This paper mainly focuses on the scheme design and engineer application of IMS network in Gansu Unicom.Based on an careful study of the IMS architecture and the current status of the Gansu Unicom network,a specific design plan for the IMS network deployment was formulated,covering the IMS architecture and core network element configuration,SBC construction,routing plan,and network supporting system construction,etc.Simultaneously,the MPLS VPN technology and application were also analyzed and researched.As the completion of Gansu Unicom's IMS network,PSTN and softswitch network users have been moved from the PSTN network and softswitch network to the IMS network.It has avoided various shortcomings of the fixed networks in Gansu fundamentally,and lays the foundation for future network expansion and network convergence.At present,the operational status of the reconstructed network is stable,which proves the scientificity,rationality and effectiveness of the project design.
