3D printing technology,known as additive manufacturing(AM)technology,is one of the advanced manufacturing technologies which has developed in the last thirty years.Fused deposition modeling(FDM)technology is one of the fastest developing technologies in 3D printing field.3D printer based on FDM technology has the advantages of low cost,portability,low working environment requirements.However it has its own shortcomings,such as poor working stability of system,low printing precision and difficult support postprocessing,which affect the market development and promotion of FDM 3D printer seriously.This thesis studies on FDM technology and designs a FDM 3D printer with dual nozzles to improve the existing disadvantages.The research and development of dual nozzles 3D printer include two main parts: mechanical system and control system of dual nozzles.The main research work of this thesis concerning the structure and its control system is specified as follows:Firstly,the scheme of dual nozzles structure is determined according to working principle of dual nozzles.The extrusion structure of piston-style nozzle and its model are devised,and the temperature field of the whole single nozzle is simulated and analyzed that brings about structure assembly design of dual nozzles.Then thermal effect of the dual nozzles and their actual working temperature field are analyzed with simulation method based on simplified dual nozzles model,which verifies the accuracy and feasibility of the design scheme.Secondly,the embedded system based on ARM is designed according to the control unit of dual nozzles 3D printer.The dual nozzles are controlled by alternation is determined through deliberations,and the coordinated planning path of dual nozzles is improved.Based on the control unit,the module unit circuit design of the hardware circuitry of the system is designed.The sequential design of the bottom control system is put forward to realize the coordinated planning and control of double nozzles.What's more,the relationships and the functions of bottom control system are described in detail.The design and research of 3D printer control system is thus completed.Finally,three practical printing tests including printing shape,size,and precision test,two-color printing test and complex model printing test of dual nozzles 3D printer come after experimental preparation and slice setting of the dual nozzles.And it turns out that the result of the precision test and the support effect are rather ideal,which well verify the stability of the dual nozzles 3D printer structure and system.Through the research of 3D printer based on FDM technology,this thesis designs a dual nozzles 3D printer,which improves the working stability of the system and printing precision,and solves the problems of support postprocessing and other issues.The designed machine achieves the goal of the project,and offers a basis and reference for desktop multi-nozzle 3D printer of high stability,high precision and low cost,hence its high practical value.
