2014 was known as the first year of the development of China's traditional media and new media integration by the Chinese media industry.Undoubtedly,the formation of media groups and the realization of integrated development is an important part of the reform and development of China's media industry.Foshan media group is one of the first local media group to start the cross-media and cross-industry integration.By focusing on the opportunities,challenges and possible paths which Foshan media group reform is facing,it is conducive to further promote the development of China's media industry.This paper consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction which mainly introduces the basic theory of the background,significance,contents,methods and related concepts and the domestic research situation.The second part explores the history of the reform of Foshan media group from the perspective of transaction costs.The third part analyzes the current system and rationality and the conflict with the principle of reducing transaction costs and classified study of the role of all the concerned parties media group in the Foshan media group reform.The fourth part is to dissect the typical case of other media groups from both domestic and abroad in order to summarize the experience for reference.The fifth part proposes that reducing transaction costs and increasing the total social benefit is an inexorable law of media system reform,and tries to explain the internal mechanism,change direction and possible path so that practical suggestions can be made for the sustainable development of Foshan media group.
