The Study Of Group Interaction Of The Young People From Taiwan In Beijing On The Theory Of Interaction Ritual Chains

The social mobility and group interaction of the young people have always been wide discussed in Sociology and Communication.The Sunflower Movements contributes to different relations of Taiwan and the mainland of China,the young people of Taiwan have experienced a changing social and economic environment as a result.Most of them have a strong desire of the mobility to the mainland of China.Beijing is one of the most innovative cities of our country which provides millions of jobs and opportunities to the young people of Taiwan.In the methods of field research and qualitative interview,this research interviewed 8 young people from Taiwan,all of whom based in Beijing.This research takes Interaction Ritual Chains as the main theory.Randall Collins thought that situation is the starting point of his theory.This research tends to describe three main situations of this social group in the daily life.They include the situations of work,political events and personal interactions.First,in work situation,although they work on their own jobs,they have hidden social group relations in some way.They experienced the changing identity cognitions,from instant emotions to long-term emotions.Second,the political events are a typical situation for these young people.They achieve symbols and communicate with government and official media.Different people gain different attitudes towards these situations.Some people achieve high social capital and they have strong desire to participate in more of these events in return.On the other hand,some people have less desire in these events,they choose to deconstruct these situations.Third,comparing with the two situations above,personal interactive situations are more welcomed among these young people.Most of these situations are organized with the emotion of homesick.Many of the other situations reflect how the symbols are created,collected and changed.Many of the young people see these situations as a way of self-actualization.Emotion energy and group symbols are accumulated and can fluid among different situations.Through the dynamic of "choose and avoid" mechanism,individual establishes one's own interactive circle which construct the structure of this social group as a whole.
