With the development of Civil Aviation,a large amount of flight data has been collected.As one of the most typical type of data,flight trajectory not only contains lots of attributes such as location,velocity,altitude and course,but also indicates temporal and spatial behavior patterns of aircrafts,which are significant to flight safety and aviation management.Therefore,applying data processing and visualization techniques to explore flight trajectory data and discover underlying knowledge,so as to provide guidance for civil aviation management and promote the development of civil aviation,has become an important topic in visualization.In this thesis,we apply spatial-temporal data processing methods and visualization techniques to design and implement a visualization system for civil aviation flight trajectory data,which provides an efficient platform for analysis and exploration of civil aviation flight trajectory data.Our main contributions are as following:Firstly,we crawl lots of historical flight trajectory data from FlightAware and collect trajectory data of aircraft monitored through ADS_B technique in real time.Secondly,we propose a curve simplification algorithm,HS Radial Distance.Based on traditional Radial Distance algorithm,it combines deflection and distance tolerance to simplify curves for better simplification of hover segments.Thirdly,we apply HS Radial Distance and other data cleaning algorithms to process trajectory data,then aggregate them through DBSCANSD algorithms.And we design a multi-dimension and multi-view visualization system of flight trajectory data,and implement it through 2D/3D maps and statistical charts.The system supports viewing multiple targets,tracking targets and interactive exploring.Finally,we illustrate the usage of the system through some use cases and evaluate it.Results show that the system can visualize the flight trajectory data efficiently in short response time,and support interactive analysis and exploration to discover underlying knowledge and provide guidance for civil aviation management.
