Research On The Agenda Setting Of Anti-corruption Coverage

In the past ten years,anti-corruption has been among the hot topics in the hot spot investigation of the two sessions(NPC and CPPCC).Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC,anti-corruption efforts have been strengthened.In this process,the mainstream media play their role of agenda setting and strengthen reports on anti-corruption issues.On the one hand,they satisfy people's right to know,and on the other hand,they also play a deterrent role to national public officials.First of all,this thesis makes a brief review of the history,present situation and achievements of anti-corruption.Then,for content analysis and sampling analysis,we select People's Daily and Southern Metropolis Daily's anti-corruption reports from January 1,2012 to December 31,2016 as samples.On the basis of agenda setting theory,we compare the similarities and differences on anti-corruption reports between the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC and the differences between the party newspaper and the urban newspaper on the issue of anti-corruption after the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC.This thesis also summarizes the anti-corruption situation of the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC.The characteristics of the agenda setting in the current anti-corruption report are described.Thirdly,from the three models of the agenda setting theory,the media's agenda setting and public opinion oriented functions for anti-corruption reports are illustrated.Finally,the thesis puts forward its own views and suggestions on the better presentation of the issue of anti-corruption by the media.Through the study,it is found that both party newspapers and urban newspapers have given full attention to the issue of anti-corruption.Meanwhile,the reports on anti-corruption issues show similarities and differences.From the number and layout of the report,there is not much difference between the two.Anti-corruption reports are widely distributed on the page.From the topic of the report,the party newspaper adheres to the positive propaganda.The urban newspaper exposes anti corruption events.From the level of officials,the party newspaper supervises the officials of provincial,ministerial and higher levels,and the urban newspaper is concerned about officials at the bureau level and below.From the content text,the party newspaper is objective and rigorous,and the urban newspaper is easy to understand.At the same time,from the three models of the agenda setting theory,both of them have presented anti-corruption issues in a prominent page,focus on anti-corruption issues and give full play to the agenda setting function.
