Research On Key Technology Of DTV STB And Its Implementation

It is the certain trend that the analog television system will be replaced by the digital television system.Digital TV is the emerging industry which has the best future in the 21 st century.Our government is preparing for the conveR-Sion from analog television to digital television actively.There are more than 4 billions of analog TV sets in China,therefore it is a good choice to use existing analog TV sets equipped with STB(Set Top Box)to watch digital TV programs.STB has been developed for more than a decade in China,but it is useful to study on the design of STB since the analog-digital hybrid IDTV(Integrated Digital Television)is not come into being.Meanwhile,studies on STB can accelerate the development of multimedia.Against this background,this thesis studies the correlation technique on the STB and the hardware and software design in detail.The thesis mainly discusses Design and implementation,puts the emphasis on the design and implementation of STB.Firstly,the thesis introduces the present of development situation of the digital TV and the STB.The related theories of Digital Video Broadcasting-Cable(DVB-C)and MPEG-2 transport standards are introduced in chapter two.And then,the thesis analyzes the basic functions,structure and key technologies of STB in chapter three.After that,the thesis puts forward a blue print of STB,including selecting chips for hardware modules and proposing software structure.The implementation of every module is discussed detailed in chapter five.The modules include QAM demodulator,the main control module based on Hi2016,the memory and A/V output.Finally,the thesis summarizes the work have been done,and prospects the foreground of STB.
