| In recent years, with the development of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)market, the UAV-carried equipment has become a hot spot in the field of development. The image transmission system is considered to be the major equipment among others. The existing image transmission system, which is developed from the military manned aircraft and weighing tens of kilograms,is not suitable for the miniature UAV.Furthermore, the traditional image transmission system, based on dynamic video coding standard, have certain shortcomings in high definition aerial photography, military reconnaissance and other fields. Therefore, the miniature image transmission system based on still image coding standard has become one of the development direction of the field. This dissertation proposes a real-time image wireless transmission system based on JPEG2000.Firstly,JPEG2000 standard is introduced, including Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT),Bit Plane Coding(BPC),MQ encoder and code stream truncation organization.Secondly, based on demand functions, the system is designed, which is consist of capture part, encoding part and transmission part. One ADV212 chip is used as the core chip of the system functionality, while one FPGA chip is implemented as main control chip.Thirdly,RTL coding is accomplished in FPGA for system control to accomplish the configuration of chips while C coding is finished in embedded system for transmission protocol.Due to the intra-frame coding in JPEG2000,the proposed system has important significance in image encoding applications that require high resolution with high compression performance. The proposed system is emulated by Modelsim simulator tool and is synthesized as well as implemented on FPGA by Quartus II and Nios II.Subsequently, the system is tested and the transferred image is displayed on ground station. The decoded image shows that the performance is as expected. |
