The Design And Implementation Of The University Textbook Management System

With the development of the national information construction,the informatization of the education industry is getting more and more attention by universities.The current prime requirement of universities’ education management is that to realize secure、efficient、convenient and normative way to manage.The effect of management of the textbook will directly impact school’s teaching quality,as textbook is one of the most important sources of university education system.However,as eduction industrilization popularized,universities expanded their enrollments and classficaication of mayor field dramatically.Therefore,it increases the complexity and workload of the textbook management,the current stand-alone textbook management system couldn’t meet the requirements of informatization management.How to make the managers’ daily routine simple is the problem that demanding prompt solution.Through the interview and investigation of a textbook management department in an university,and based on the information of this university’s specific textbook managing situation and the procedure,the author obtained the conclusion of this university’s requirement of textbook management.This paper modeling and analysis the main operation by analysing the emphasis of this university’s managing procedure with the specific characters of textbook management,which are few users,high data security,frequent operation and for exclusive use.Further more,with all the information above,and through a large number of comparation of different technologies,determined the design architecture and language conform to the model of this university’s textbook management,and obtained the specific design of the system,and overall architecture、database design、 category of operation design and so on.At last,after the specific system function design and server design,author has completed this management system,which is totally meet the requirement of the textbook managing system’s users.Based on the characters of users,this system basis on two levels of C/S architecture,accomplished with C# on.NET of Microsoft.The system can realize functions as below:reserving and purchasing the textbooks accoroding to suppliers or types,distributing and returning the textbooks according to single buyers or groups,recording the information of textbooks、depot management as IN-warehouse、EX-warehouse,managing functions as creating or altering textbook using scheme and order scheme.And also build the database server with SQL Servers 2008.,which is convenient for cross region information storage and invoke.This system has already been used for a while.During the trial,the result is quite well,indicated that this system has complete functions、short response time,and has the great stability、expandability and useability characters.But also has some to improve.On accound of the separation of textbook management department and other university’s management department,and because of the specific requirements such as data security and very few users,this system’s architecture is not compatible with the university’s teaching affair system which has a large number of users.Although now can realize intercommunication through Excel chart,but the compatibility is quite an important issue in the next level of research.Meanwhile,in the other hand,depot management can be further improved to increase efficiency.In general,this system obtained good reputation from this university’s textbook managers.
