A Comparative Study On The News Reports Of The "Xi-Ma Meeting" Newspaper

Leaders of cross-strait,Xi Jinping and MA Yingjeou met in Singapore,meeting betweenXi Jinping and MA Ying-jeou for short.This event is a milestone for the peaceful development ofcross-strait.Meeting between Xi Jinping and MA Ying-jeou in Nov 7,2015 will deepen cross-strait exchanges and cooperation,and enhance the well-being of compatriots on both sides.The meeting opened up a new space for positive interaction between the two sides.The media of cross-strait paid attention during Xi and Ma meeting.The most representative of the four newspapers which are People,daily,Guanming Daily,United Daily and China times were as the research object and the relevant reports selected in Nov 1-15 2015 were as the research sample with comparative study.Based on the empirical research,this paper makes an objective and systematic quantitative analysis of the theme of the report,the sources of journalism,the way of quotation,the sources of news,the genre of reports and the timeliness of reporting and qualitative text analysis theory was introduced at the same time.The report text content and the style of different news headlines for cross-strait were studied,trying to explore issue news of the meeting between Xi Jinping and MA Ying-jeou reported by the news media of cross-trait,existing what kinds of differences,and the underlying reasons behind these differences.The similarities and differences of cross-strait in dealing with the basic elements of the news,such as the number of reports,news resources and report genre,through the results of the qualitative analysis,the newspaper and media reports meeting between Xi Jinping and MA Ying-jeou showing different patterns.The main reason for differences is that it is affected by the different ideology,the nature of the media and the social environment of the cross-strait,so that the news issue of meeting between Xi Jinping and MA Ying-jeou presents different frameworks.From the principle of authenticity and objectivity of news,it puts forward the reflection of journalism for us.d objectivity.
