| Under the background of digital and aging society,this study aims to explore the influence of digitization on aging society.Taking the elderly over 60 s in Shenzhen as example,this study discusses the manifestation of digital divide on adoption,use and knowledge,trying to sketch a digital divide forming path from shallow to deep.This research uses three methods: the questionnaire,depth interview and action study method.Through quantitative research,this paper finds that in Shenzhen almost sixty percent of the elderly over 60 s adopted We Chat.The more favorable an individual perceives We Chat,the more likely and earlier the person is to adopt it.Women are more likely to adopt We Chat than men.On the use of We Chat,the more favorable an individual perceives We Chat,the more likely the person is to use it,including the length of use,the degree of involvement and the degree of proficiency.While perceived popularity of We Chat among the old doesn’t affect the degree of involvement and proficiency,but affect the length of use.The more popular an individual perceives We Chat to be among the old,the less time they will spend on We Chat.The use of We Chat will affect media literacy ability of the elderly.The more time they spend on We Chat,worse media literacy ability they have.The more proficiently they use,better media literacy ability they have.The degree of involvement of We Chat has no effect on media literacy ability.Through the methods action study research and depth interviews,this article summarizes the manifestation of access divide,use divide and knowledge gap on the adoption and use of We Chat,trying to figure out social causes behind the digital divide and digital gap.In We Chat access divide,the equipment and the psychological factor are the most important two factors which affect the access;In the use divide,the elderly health and digital thinking affects their use.Speaking of the knowledge gap,the elderly are passive when they get the information and their information consciousness literacy is weak.From the angle of the individual,technology and society,this paper tries to summarize the reason for access divide,use divide and knowledge gap.Furthermore,this paper discusses that cultural feedback plays an important role in narrowing the digital divide.This paper discusses the impact of individual characteristics and describes the dynamic characteristics of the digital divide,analyzing the importance of the community during workshop.At last,this paper discusses the shortcoming of this research and proposes the future research direction. |
