Narrative Research On Convergence News Works

Under the convergence media environment,technological change as well as the change of audience reading habits is affecting the traditional news production model,convergence news began to appear.At the same time,convergence news is gaining a higher share in the Pulitzer News Prize,the benchmarking for the Western news industry,during the past five years.On the basis of predecessors' research on news narrative,this paper takes the news works from the Pulitzer Prize in 2012 to 2016 as the research object.Focusing on ‘narrative' and ‘story',this paper referenced the narrative theory from Genette,Brehm,Roland Bart,Vatican Dick,etc.,deeply analyzed a different narration of convergence news compared with traditional news,and constructed a narrative grammar structure of fusion news.In the integration of news,the text as the backbone,is the main carrier of narrative,followed by pictures,video,interactive charts and other narrative elements,the database as source of information,is the support of the news,social platform as the link of all platform,works throughout the entire narrative process to construct the open text.In addition,this paper analyzed the narrative space of the convergence news with Zorun's narrative space theory research as framework,and interactive narrative,pluralistic narration,and reader narration from postclassical narratology as perspective.Convergence news has get rid of the linear narrative from traditional narrative,restored the geological space of the story,and constructed user's narration.In the last chapter,based on the analysis of the current convergence news works in Pulitzer news prize,the author point out that convergence news has some limitations: the limitation of subject,the uncontrollable of narrative content and narrative rhythm,and the interactive narrative might weaken the news' authenticity.Promoted by the development of technology,the new narrative of convergence news is the inheritance and innovation of traditional news narration.This new narrative will not replace the traditional news narrative,but put forward new requirements for journalists.The power of journalists will not dismiss,but goes toward the "narrative authority".
