With the development of active antenna technology, 3D MIMO increases the vertical dimension on the basis of the traditional MIMO, and provides services for users in the three-dimensional space, which is very important for improving the system capacity and reducing the interference between users. System simulation of 3D MIMO needs to support two-dimensional antenna array and three-dimensional channel model with more complex algorithm design. The simulation study of 3D MIMO system has a high reference value for evaluating the performance of the system. In this thesis a system simulation platform of 3D MIMO is constructed based on the standard of 3GPP, and the performance of 3D MIMO network is simulated and optimized.Firstly, based on the 3D MIMO simulation standard in 3GPP, the thesis introduces the 3D channel model, builds the 3D MIMO network system level simulation platform, and introduces each module of the simulation platform in detail. This simulation platform is used as a simulation tool to study system performance, coexistence performance and assessment of optimization in 3D MIMO.The performance of communication systems in different user distribution are evaluated, such as indoor users, outdoor line-of-sight users and outdoor non-line-of-sight users. Besides, the reasons of different performance are analyzed. As for system coexistence, the 3D MIMO coexistence simulation platform is built based on the 3D MIMO network simulation platform. ACLR of the 3D MIMO system and the traditional LTE system is evaluated by the coexistence platform. The simulation results show that the 3D MIMO system and the traditional LTE system can well coexist. The simulation results also show that the performance of the cell edge users has seriously affected the overall performance of the cell.Aiming at the problem of performance optimization of cell edge in 3D MIMO system, the thesis proposes a scheme to divide the cell boundary by the user azimuth angle obtained in 3D MIMO system and adds coverage for cell edge. Combined with support vector machine (SVM) method, the boundary of the cell is studied and a cell boundary area coverage is made.Through the simulation, we can improve the average throughput more than 5% and the cell-edge throughput more than 47%...
