MIMO (Multi Input Multi Output) is an effective technique to increase the spectral efficiency of wireless communication systems. It takes full advantage of the spatial diversity and multiplexing features of antennas, achieving large capacity and high speed transmission in limited spectrum. In indoor hotspot scene which LTE-Advanced focuses on, MIMO is an indispensable key technique. The key to research MIMO is to establish a reasonable MIMO channel model. The theme of this dissertation is derived from corporation project. One work is the study and comparison of deterministic ray-tracing technique and stochastic SCME MIMO channel model. The ray-tracing technique has high accuracy but poor scalability and large compute capacity, and its scene modeling is complex; SCME supports multiple scenarios but has poor accuracy for a particular environment. The second work of this paper is designing and implementing SCME channel simulation platform. For SCME modeling process, complete the design scheme and implement with C# language. It can support multiple scene and antenna types with great scalability. Then apply the platform in channel simulation and analysis the characteristic of channel parameters, channel coefficients distribution and antenna correlation. The result is corresponding to theoretical analysis. The third work is applying SCME and ray-tracing method in LTE-Advanced system level simulation in indoor hotspot. With SINR and user throughput indicators, research the performance of two kinds MIMO channel models in different station options and antenna polarization in terms of applicability, accuracy and simulation efficiency.
