Information Centric Network adapts the shift of network application mode, which enables the decoupling between content providers and receivers as well as content names and their locations, realizes the binding between content and its name, and implements built-in cache. In order to simplify the naming schema of content and reduce the complexity of the cache cooperation, effectively use multipath for forwarding, this thesis proposes the network coding based content centric network.Content Centric Network and network coding both aim to address the content distribution issue, saving bandwidth through caching and computation respectively.This thesis relies on the future network prospective research project of jiangsu province"Research on content centric networking based on network coding", revolving around how to combine CCN with network coding. The following achievements have been made:(1) Making a detailed analysis and summaries respectively about Content Centric Network and network coding.(2) Proposing a solution of combing content centric network with network coding,and completing the design of network coding based content centric network model which is called NC-CCN.(3) Making extensive simulation experiments about the NC-CCN model proposed by this thesis, and comparing its performance with original CCN in detail.(4) Implementing the NC-CCN prototype whose performance is verfied by the simulation.Research results of this thesis show that combining network coding with CCN can eliminate the CCN's naming granularity problem, effectively use multipath for forwarding, reduce the complexity of the cache cooperation, and simplify the transport mechanism. Simulation results show that with appropriate settings, NC-CCN can show better performance than CCN. Finally, based on the design that is verified by the simulation, a prototype system overlaying the IP network is further designed and implemented by this paper.
