"Chinese Media Convergence Development Report(2016)" was held in Beijing and Guangzhou on February 8th.The report shows,under the pressure of the rapid development of the internet technology as well as the declining trend of traditional media,there has been an apparent trend towards convergence development between new media and traditional one.The traditional media in China has achieved considerable success in some aspects,such as Weibo,Webchat,mobile phone applications,cloud communications and 'central kitchen'mechanism.As a result of which,a framework for convergence development has been formed.Faced with this trend,the universities in China specialized in media education has to consider how to cultivate advanced professionals.Since 2009,the Ministry of Education has determined to enlarge the scale of admitting students for Master's degree to cultivate professionals who are well qualified professionally and academically.The cultivation of the Masters of Arts majoring in broadcasting and television art is to cultivate the advanced professionals for the radio and television industry.A large number of universities,however,adopting traditional cultivation patterns,failed to realize this trend,in consequence of which,some problems has raised,among which are students' lack of practice and narrow academic background,curriculum repeatability,etc.In this paper,three main solutions to current problems are put forward by sorting through previous documentary material and analyzing the requirements of media professionals,which are 'working process' cultivation mode,multi-subjects education mode and '2+2+1 + 1.5'cultivation mode,apart from which,some researches on cultivation mode of media professionals have also been made by comparing course setting and education method between China and the U.S..
