With the continuous development of science and technology and the deepening of information technology,increasing network size,network energy consumption can't be ignored.ICT is now estimated toaccount for 1-2%of the world energy consumption,and most of the consumption is in the access network.The theme of today's world is low-carbon green,green and sustainable development.In the reality,the contradictions between energy shortages and the sharp increase of network energy consumption has caused the concern and attention of academia and industry,who work together to solve this major problem.Energy-Saving research in networks has become hot spot and has great strategic significance.With the rapid development of Internet applications and network technology,network integration has become the inevitable trend of the next generation network development.As one of the most promising technologies in the next-generation broadband access network,fiber wireless hybrid broadband access network(FiWi)combines the mobility of high-capacity optical networks,wireless access networks with Flexibility Features.It can offer broadband users higher data rates,lower access costs,a wider coverage,better quality service and more convenient service access.However,in the access network,client devices dispersion and the large number of devices result in the occurrence of high energy consumption and low resource utilization.As the "last kilometer" of telecommunications,the access network has many equipments,whose energy consumption accounts for about 70%of the entire telecommunications network.People now pay more and more attentions to Energy issues.The energy saving of FiWi can better achieve energy conservation and promote green industry development.On the basis of the existing research about the optical and wireless networkand SDN,Fiber Wireless Energy Saving based on SDN(FWESS)scheme is proposed,and the structure of FiWi is optimized.Specific contents are as follows:(1)Firstly,we study the architecture of optical and wireless network and the advantages of it are discussed.And from topology design,network planning and system design of the three aspects of the basic structure of the FiWi network.(2)Based on the control of SDN,Fiber Wireless Energy Saving based on SDN(FWESS)scheme is proposed by using OpenFlow SDN technology.In the scheme,the hierarchical model of energy saving network and network structure are designed,and the analysis is carried out.The SDN controller is used as the core control unit,which can be realized from the global point of view to carry out the resource scheduling,which makes the resource can be used to maximize the use of the energy saving effect.(3)In Fiber Wireless Energy Saving based on SDN(FWESS)scheme,we also give a communication protocol between ONU,controller and hybrid OLT.And the energy saving mode and the transformation of the sleep state of the FWESS energy saving scheme in the multi-level sleep mode are described in detail.(4)The human traffic sampling system in the laboratory is obtained from the traffic data of several places.The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by experiments.
