Most of current network architectures were constructed30years ago, which were mainly used for researchers’communication. With the development of network application, the network architecture built30years ago does not meet people’s requirement. Therefore, a new network is needed to replace current network, which is future network. Future network is an idea of network development. There is no detailed planning to realize future network currently. According to ITU-T recommendation of future network’s objective and design goals, this paper focuses on the convergence networking technology for optical and wireless network.Network virtualization is a very important technology. It realizes network separation and flexibility to support large scale network, services and users. It also helps to setup experiment network and accelerate the development and research on future network technology. With network virtualization, optical and wireless access network convergences cross multiple layers. This convergence will make access network support flexibility and mobility in physical layer with low latency, high capacity and reliability. It will meet the requirement of resources and services in future network.This paper first introduces the background and technology of optical and wireless network. Then it elaborates the objective and design goals in future network, and virtualization framework. It compares virtual network and network virtualization, analyzes what kind of problems can be solved by network virtualization and introduces hierarchical structure of network virtualization, key technology and operating entity.Chapter3is networking scheme. Physical network is3types of optimized FiWi architecture. OpenFlow is used to realize network virtualization. After that is the detailed design of Hybrid ONU and controller.Chapter4is design verification. Through real networking experiment, the scheme is proved to be feasible. Chapter5is the summary and gives the direction of future research.
