On high rate of coal mine accident,the personal safety of miners can not be effectively protected.Coal mine operations have been recognized as one of the most dangerous working environments.It's hard to grasp the specific circumstances of the underground at the first time because of the delay of the information exchange.In this regard,the real-time localization of miners can greatly improve rescue efficiency in emergency situations,and has very important significance.The mine monitoring systems have been applied in more and more underground mines to solve these problems.But most of them use the wire communication methods and have some limitations,such as function singularity,incompatibility,no industry standard and so on.This article is part of joint research project of the laboratory and corporate which called the coal integrated management system.The whole system architecture is divided into four layers:information collection,information transmission,information exchange,information analysis and includes four subsystems:the coal mine personnel positioning system,video surveillance system,WiFi mobile communication system,gas monitoring system.The base station brings the information of the subsystems together,and sends to the monitoring of background through the optical fiber.This will not only be able to meet the requirements of the monitoring information,but also has good compatibility.Design and implementation of the underground mine personnel location system based on RSSI is completed in this paper.The paper first describes the meaning and content of the underground positioning system,and then introduces the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of indoor positioning methods and positioning platform and ZigBee technology.Based on the project requirements,we discuss and analyze the whole design scheme of system.Finally,TI's CC2530 and CC2591 chip are designed as hardware platform and software design is based on the protocol stack——ZStack.The main work and focus of the paper are shown as follows:1)The overall design of the positioning system.Coal mine has many roadways which are further divided into some position areas.In each position area,some anchor nodes are deployed to form a separate ZigBee network and at the entrance of the mine,a dedicated ZigBee network is set up to achieve the attendance function.Moreover,we also design the communication protocol standards of data exchange between mobile nodes and anchor nodes,and the ZigBee network and computers in ground center station.2)Positioning and communication application software development.Bottom hardware layer,application and ZDO of the TI's ZStack are modified to meet the requirements of system communication.And the system implements data communications,networking,node dynamic network,and the RSSI extraction.3)Design and implementation of the hardware platform.This paper design the hardware of the mobile node using the CC2530 chip and the anchor node using the CC2591 front end with cc2530.The transmit power and the coverage of the anchor node is increased.Finally,the paper sets up a test platform to verify the functionality of the system including environmental estimates and the host computer interface and points out the defects which should be improved in the future.
