In the rapid development of science and technology today, coal industry system mechanism also increasingly perfect, but the complex environment of the production of mine and the increase and expand with coal mining depth, strength, speed and scale continuous, making the underground mining safety coefficient still remains high, there have a threat to underground staffs life with many security hidden danger such as coal and gas outburst, underground water and collapse etc. If can master of the miners underground dynamic distribution and environment factors in time, in time to prevent accidents or in the accident after that time in the rescue of personnel, unnecessary casualties will be reduced.This paper based on the miners safe, putting forward a miners positioning monitoring system design and research based on ZigBee technology, the system has the real-time locating and tracking, identity and safety warning function, can realize the efficiency of the administration of underground and safety management.This paper intensive study on ZigBee network technology and IEEE108.15.4protocol standards, through the characteristics of ZigBee technology of low power consumption, low rate and network, to make up for the shortcomings of the RFID, WIFI and wireless transmission of the short distance, and there is the perfect standards and good performance of the agreement and compatibility of ZigBee technology. Through a series of comparison and design, manifests the ZigBee technology application in underground staff positioning system of the feasibility and advantage.This system in the hardware design of the partition way, including miners positioning system ZigBee coordinator, ZigBee routers and terminal mobile devices, and PC for data transmission part of CAN bus. ZigBee coordinator to ST STM32W108ZigBee single-chip microcomputer chip company as the core, through to the power supply module, LCD drivers, peripherals to carry on the design. The CC2430ZigBee router chips for the core design. The designs of ZigBee terminal mobile devices use the CC2431chips. It also analyzes the positioning of the miners algorithms’ characteristics and application area. Finally, this paper use the centroid localization algorithm based on RSSI and the method of combining the trilateral distance to calculated the position of the miners.Software designed to IAR EW as a platform to TI company’s Z-Stack based protocol Stack, detailed the ZigBee module design work flow, the system model building and testing, through the TI company launched the Z-Location positioning monitoring software demonstration experiment, and draw the conclusion that the ideal test results, and prove the ZigBee technology used for miners positioning system, researching on the technology of ZigBee miners positioning system can give a better development of the feasibility of laboratory and set-up.
