Remote monitoring system for vehicles is an important part of Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS).The main function of remote monitoring system for vehicles is using the vehicle terminal to collect data of vehicle,sending the data the center of traffic control by the technology of wireless communication and network and the managers can monitor the real-time status of vechle and restore its historical trajectory by analyzing and processing the data.The purpose of remote monitoring system is to meet the needs of traffic management department and help the managers to dispatch vehicles more efficient and timely according to the real-time position and a variety of dynamic parameters of vehicles.There are some deficiencies and shortcomings in the existing technology of vehicle monitoring.Firstly,the geographic information systems used in the technology of vehicle monitoring has the huge amount of data so that the requirements of hardware are relatively high.Also the kind of system is running slowly.Secondly,the sharing efficiency of the monitoring platform is relatively low and can not meet the requirements of reusing the information in toaday's internet era beacause it uses mostly C/S structure.Based on the above analysis,this article did the following study.Firstly,the vehicle terminal collects the geographic information of vehicle and the vehicle status parameters,such as oil pressure,oil temperature,speed of revolution,speed of vehicle which are obtained by the technology of the CAN bus.Then the data is sended to the server using TCP/IP network transport protocol by the method of wireless communication.The server extracts the useful information from the received data and stores it in the database every minute.Secondly,the transportation management system of vehicle is designed based on the database.Also the structure of database is improved.The users of the system can register and inquiry the other information of vehicles,such as driver information,vehicle information,the violation and accident information of vehicles.With the information of terminal,the managers can try to grasp all kinds of information of the vehicle to improve their management efficiency.Lastly,the article uses Baidu Maps API interface,calls the information of back-end database and writes it on the web map.After the users logging on to the website,they can view the movement trajectory of history of the vehicle and monitor the position and the variety of real-time meter parameters of vehicles.It is convenient for traffic control of management department.The vehicle terminal sends the simulated vehicle data of CAN bus and the GPS data to the server.The server can acquire and strore the information of vehicles timely and accurately.The transportation management system of vehicle has the characteristic of data security.And the information related with vehicle is complete and detailed and the interaction between the interface and the back-end databaseworks well and quickly.The remote monitoring platform is stable,simple operation and real-time.It has achieved the desired objectives of the project.
