Research On The Internationalization Path Of Chinese Academic Journals

As the carrier of academic achievements and exchanges in China,academic journals are an important part of the cultural industry and bear the vital responsibilities of cultural development and prosperity.With the rapid rise of China's economy and the progress of science and technology,to open up more communication channels and platforms and to promote more effective international communication and dissemination become the common needs of China and the world.The internationalization of academic journals is already the inevitable choice for the future development of China's periodical industry.Nowadays,the academic papers of our country are getting higher and higher evaluation in international community,however,the development of our academic journals is lagging behind,the degree of internationalization is generally low,and the influence of the world stage is still to be improved.In this context,based on the systematic investigation and combing the current situation of the development of English academic journals in China,this paper summarizes the path of internationalization of academic journals and provides reference for the concrete practice of academic journals' internationalization in China.First of all,this paper starts from the background of the internationalization of academic journals,expounds the connotation of the internationalization of academic journals from the five dimensions,which are journal content quality,periodical editorial board,publishing language,journal reader and distribution channel.Then the author points out that the significance of internationalization of academic journals,including promote academic exchanges and cooperation,improve the influence of academic journals,enhance the international academic discourse right and so on.Secondly,this paper uses ISSN(International Standard Serial Number)China National Center,Journal Database of China National Knowledge Internet and Web of Science as data sources,referring to the science network and other platforms at the same time.Then we investigates the present situation of Chinese academic journals from start time,publishing cycle,the competent authorities,the organizers,the cooperation between China and foreign countries,the database,open access,impact factors,etc,to sort out and analysis the current development of China's academic journals.Thirdly,start from the participation of journal publishing process which involves sponsors,publishers,distributors,the author summarizes the four paths of internationalization of academic journals in China,and points out the typical cases of each path.And next analysis the operation mode of the path,the advantages and disadvantages the path exists,and finally put forward the corresponding optimization strategy,to provide reference for the international practice of China's academic journals.Finally,the article expounds these four paths in a summary,and points out the areas that need to be improved in the research process,making a prospect for the international development of academic journals.This paper argues that the path of internationalization of academic journals is not easy and merit.Any kind of path model has its corresponding advantages and disadvantages,and the applicable conditions of every path are different.China's academic journals should combine their own actual situation and development conditions to choose the most suitable international path for their own development.
