Research On The Internationalization Development Of Chinese English Social Science Academic Journals

Academic journals can effectively integrate the latest achievements of national scientific research and technological development,which is the strategic highland of national scientific research development and the important embodiment of cultural soft power.Among more than 6,000 academic journals in China,English journals rely on their language advantages,are important carriers of Chinese scientific research achievements into the international academic community.Compared with Chinese English technical journals,the internationalization of Chinese English social science academic journals started late.It is an important issue for the development of English social science academic journals in China that how to make journals adapt to the rising cultural level and coordinate with the increasing international discourse power.Firstly,this article analyzes the policies related to the internationalization of English social science academic journals in China.Secondly,quantitative analysis method is used to make statistics on the macroscopic development status of English social science academic journals,including the publication time,publication period,organizer of academic journals,regional distribution,discipline distribution and publishing institutions,to obtain the status of macroscopic development of English social science academic journals.Thirdly,analyze the international development of English social science journals from the aspects of international construction and international influence,including editor-in-chief,editorial board,contributions and the digital platforms,as well as the international library collections,well-known database collections and international citing status,using specific data to visualize the international influence and scholarly communication ability of English social sciences academic journals.In addition,on the basis of the previous analysis,summarize the problems and deficiencies in the development of English social science journals in China,including the characteristics of international development are not outstanding enough,internationalized content quality needs to be improved,the low level of internationalization digital publishing,and the development of the international evaluation system is slow and so on.Finally,combined with China actual development,proposes the innovative path for the internationalization development of English social science academic journals in China,including strengthening the support and guidance for English social science academic journals,adjusting the structure of journals,strengthening content construction,enhancing the digital publishing capacity,and expanding the way of international cooperation and deepen the user-oriented service system and more.
