Since the 1980s,Chinese academic circles have begun research on core journals. The Guide to the Core Journals of China,A Guide to the Humanities and Social Sciences Core Journals in China,Chinese Social Science Citation Index made Core journals more closely related to journal evaluation and academic evaluation.Citation data worship and core journal worship lead to academic chaos, making the situation of non-core journals more difficult, the environment for the survival and development of Chinese academic journals is worrying. As a part of the non-core journals with more academic competitiveness, the extended journals needs help and guidance to find a reasonable development path. Therefore, the article will conduct research on the extended academic journals of the Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences. The article is divided into six parts.First of all,it sorts out the relevant historical background and research status of the extended academic journals of the Chinese humanities and social sciences, and clarifies the research objects, purposes, methods, basic theories and related concepts.Secondly, using the analytical framework of full evaluation to analyze the evaluation system of Chinese humanities and social sciences extended academic journals, that is,analyzing the CSSCI journal evaluation system and the Chinese humanities and social sciences journal AMI comprehensive evaluation system, comparing the differences and connections between them, analyzing the two evaluations result.Thirdly, taking the library, information and archives science as an example, the distribution of high-impact papers in extended editions is analyzed based on the two indexes of citations and downloads.Fourth, case studies are conducted in six extended journals of library, information and archives science of CSSCI and a core journal, including annual total literature volume, columns, annual funded literature, and digital platform construction.Fifthly,on the basis of this, using SWOT analysis summarize the characteristics and existing problems of the extended edition journals, and propose the development countermeasures of the extended academic journals of the Chinese humanities and social sciences. Finally, summarize the previous content and indicate the lack of research.Through research, the article finds that there is a certain proportion of high-impact papers in the extended academic journals of Chinese humanities and social sciences, and its core columns are prone to produce high-impact papers. Most of the extended journals have a decreasing total annual literature volume, and the fund paper ratio is also on the rise. However, compared with the core journals, the high-quality papers are still insufficient. The positioning of the extended journals is not clear enough, the characteristics of the columns are not enough, and the level of digital construction is different. At the same time,it faces the contradiction of the evaluation tool design principle is not perfect, the academic innovation is difficult to measure, the individualized academic research and management evaluation unified indicators, the complexity of citation motivation and the negative of the journal Matthew effect. It is suggested to use the analytical framework of full evaluation to establish an evaluation system for the extended journals to adapt to its own characteristics;it is recommended that the extended journals treat the journal evaluation tools comprehensively and correctly, treat the evaluation results correctly and objectively, seize the opportunity of the development of academic journals, adhere to the journal's own positioning, build characteristic columns vigorously, and invest in the construction of digital platform.
