At present, the bottleneck of the development of Internet of things technology is the lack of a unified architecture. Due to the wide variety of Internet of things sensors and network connectivity technology standards and technologies, it is difficult to form a large-scale industry networking. Therefore, it is necessary to design a complete implementation which can reflect the IOT system integrates division, networking, interoperability interface, common architecture of IOT system management model of the model complexity to shield the bottom and make it easy for developers to develop complex applications and build a architecture of IOT the general standard, so as to contribute to the IOT standardization and industrialization. This paper studies the ROS robot operating system as the architecture of the Internet of things. This paper analyzes the features about ROS point to point communication mode and the master node as node address management when ROS using in the environment, as well as the advantages of ROS cross platform and cross language and its user base and other characteristics; at the same time,this paper discusses such problems when ROS using in the environment of Internet of things on the support of IPv6, namespace specification security and privacy protection mechanism, and the problem of applied to embedded devices, and discusses the the advantages and disadvantages of ROS point-to-point communication mode and single master node characteristics in IoT environment ,and put improvemnent of main node problem ,high bandwidth problem and connecting master node automatically problem,making the ROS better use of complex networking environment with the large equipment.Finally, this article applies the Internet of things base on ROS to the construction of asphalt pavement construction system project. The construction system is designed based on the perception layer, network layer and application layer of the Internet of things, and ROS is used as the architecture of the system. Each paver unit and roller unit intelligent equipment will be as a ROS node, and the main node will be built on one of the paver,and the nodes can communicate with each other with the local network and 3G/4G network.
