Yu's Inscriptive Writings of Painting and Calligraphy was written by Yu Fengqing in the Ming dynasty,which is an important academic writing in the history of ancient Chinese calligraphy and painting.It was composed of 24 books and contained two hundred and thirty thousand words.The author made it an excerpt from the inscriptive writings of Tang,Song,Yuan,and Ming Dynasty.And it helped scholars for its mass of documentations.So this thesis is written to highlight its academic and cultural value by starting from the perspective of philology and using the theories and methods of bibliopoly,bibliography,and the Gathering of scattered writings.This paper is divided into three parts.Chapter one is the introduction of Yu Fengqing's life-story,containing to verify the year of his birth and death,his activities in the south,and discuss his relationship with Li Rihua,Wang Keyu,etc.Chapter one is the summary of records and researches in the ancient bibliographies.Chapter two is the textual research of its compilation course and edition spreads.Besides,its writing style will be researched at this chapter.And the last chapter is the discussion of its values and defects,including investigating its value in literature,panting,and calligraphy.At the same time,the defects should be founded and envisaged.There are introduction,conclusion,and four related book photographs in this thesis.
