Edition Qing Writings Study

The Japonic publishing during the period of Jianghu was very prosperous. On the one hand it was also a golden age for the civilian culture at that time. Lots of publications had been produced from both official and civilian sides. Although Japan was not open to the outside at that time, the intercourse between Japan and Qing Dynasty were so frequent. The goods from Qing Dynasty were continually imported to Japan. The ancient books of China were the important sections of them. According to that favorable conditions, all kinds of publications with abundant contents were produced in Japan at that time. Especially a great amount of single works of the authors of Qing Dynasty were block printed again with the import of the original editions. From the beginning of Mingzhi period a lots of Chinese scholars had chances to visit Japan, prompting the cultural intercourse of two nations. The amounts of the import of the works of authors of Qing Dynasty were almost as same as the previous time. Hereby, the research on the publications of the Chinese ancient books block printed in Japan at that period was very significant based on the acceptance of the import of Chinese culture from Jianghu to Mingzhi period in Japan. My dissertation focuses on the research and investigation of the publications of the works by Chinese authors block printed in Japn that are now collected in the organizations of China, attempting to realize how Japanese accepted these Chinese works at that period. Considering it mentioned the Japan's history and culture, my dissertation will also introduce and interpret the history and culture of Jianghu period, the knowledge and the character of Japan's block printed books to the readers.
