Research On Archival Arrangement Of Ming And Qing Dynasties Under The Leadership Of Shen Jianshi

With the change of government at the end of the Qing Dynasty,Ming and Qing Dynasties left a large number of precious archives remains,these archives were sold to Tong Maozeng paper shop by the Beiyang government,Luo Zhenyu repurchased these archives and asked people to organize these archives in Tianjin library.After the director of the Institute of Peking University,Shen Jianshi,who knows the news of these archives,along with Ma Heng,asked for Cai Yuanpei to collated these archives by the Peking University Institute of Guoxue door.Shen Jianshi led the whole staff composed the Qing Dynasty Imperial Cabinet Archives Management Committee,to discuss Peking University archival arrangement.It was the first time to establish specialized academic institutions,Peking University Institute of Guoxue door,to arrange the archives.It was the first time to combine Archival arrangement with the functions of using Archives.And it was also trained the first batch of Chinese modern archival work pioneers.Shen Jianshi,Chen Yuan,Zhu Xizu et al not only accumulated Archival arrangement experience for the Qing cabinet Archives,but also become the first batch of pioneers archives of our country.The Literature Museum National Palace Museum was the most important academic institutions to arrange archives of Ming and Qing Dynasties,and it retained the methods to arrange archives by the teachers and students of Peking University,such as Chen Yuan,Shen Jianshi,Shan Shiyuan.On the basis of practice and exploration,the methods and steps were improved.Shen Jianshi has certain innovation and achievements in the Archives theory,Archives administrative thought,Archives management and other aspects,he earlier proposed the words of "Archives".Shen Jianshi attaches great importance to the collection of ancient Chinese historical archives and edited the history and annals.These archives was regarded as equally important as antiquities.Shen Jianshi strive to raise funds for the arrangement of archives,and recommended the establishment of archival institutions and related personnel system.Shen Jianshi proposed the general methods to arrange the archives and follow the original order sorting archives.Pay attention to the identification and preservation work of archives,and ordered all levels of government to protect archives,shall not be arbitrarily discarded.It was considered that the compilation and display of archives is an important work as well as the arrangement and cataloging of archives display work.All of the archives colleagues under the leadership of Shen Jianshi had proposed ideas about how to arrange archives of Ming and Qing Dynasties.Fang Susheng,Zhang Deze,Wang Meizhuang et al had proposed the methods about archival arrangement and classification problems in the Qing Dynasty.Jiang Tingfu,Yao Congwu,and other people had discussed the archives collation and classification in the United States and Europe and other countries,then comparing the gap between China and foreign archives work.In summary,the recording on political,economic,legal,military and other aspects of Ming and Qing Dynasties archives reflects the development path of the country and occupy the important position.Archival arrangement of Ming and Qing Dynasties that Shen Jianshi led combination with the original archival arrangement experience in our country and foreign advanced archives ideas.It has innovated the principle of archival arrangement,standardized the method of file classification,and has made a great breakthrough and contribution to the archival arrangement of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
