Accompanied by the substantive construction of universities, the number of laboratories in China grows rapidly. In order to enhancing teaching quality, university administrators are focusing on the contribution of laboratories which have been becoming diversified and functional. However, the current management method has exposed issues on working efficiency, information transfer and mismanagement. There are issues on the quality of construction and implementation of function either. Therefore, the universities have a pressing need for a convenient and highly information-based management method to build up a process of construction and evaluation.Designing a construction management and evaluation module of laboratory management system has important implications on universities'development.Based on the requirements, the thesis analyzes the current situation of the laboratory management system, and determines the tasks. This article uses UML modeling method and creates a use case diagram for demand analysis of the system.Java is taken as the developing language and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as the database.Functionalities are designed and implemented, including lab construction application, lab evaluation management, lab project management, lab interim report management, and interim report auditing. This article first introduces the research background and significance of the lab management present situation to carry on the thorough analysis at home and abroad, points out the current problems in the development of lab management and development trend. The thesis expounds the necessity of developing this system. Then, according to the demand analysis of the research, the thesis puts forward the overall design scheme of the system, and choose B/S mode as system architecture. Then, system is divided into modules, and the database design and detailed design is presented. And the result of implementation is also given out.
