Industrial control automation technology is a comprehensive technology that uses control theory,instrumentation,computers and other information technology for realization of testing,control,optimization,scheduling,management and decision-making of the industrial production process to increase production,improve quality,reduce consumption and ensure safety.It mainly includes automation software,hardware and system.Industrial control automation technology is one of the most important modern manufacturing technology in the twentieth century.This paper focuses on the design of the automation system,which reflects the current development direction of automation technology in BOF steelmaking.This paper discusses some issues about the automatic control of converter in its automatic production process.This paper presents an analysis of problems encountered during the process of converter production based on top-bottom blowing converter technology in respect of the safety and reliability of its mechanical and electrical equipment.Current computer control technology and site bussing technology are absorbed and a set of reasonable converter computer network control system has been developed.The whole computer control system includes converter oxygen lance and related control system;converter secondary raw material control system;bottom stirring system;slag splashing protection system;converter gas recovery and purification system;waste heat boiler and cooling system.And interface has been reserved for automatic steelmaking static or dynamic model.The function of each part of the system is relatively independent and relevant communication interfaces have been added between different parts so that the control of the whole production equipments of the converter is a safe and reliable integral.The design of this system adopts industrial control computer S7400 series S7416-2DP produced by Siemens production company,with STEP 7 programming language,SCL programming language for key procedures,WINCC man-machine interface operation screen.Ring-shaped high speed Industrial Ethernet cable is used for the whole computer network.Communication speed between the workstation computer and control computer has reached hundreds of megabytes.The most popular PROFIBUS site control bussing technology has been used as the site control equipment,making site layout reasonable and reducing the cost for centralized cable laying and maintenance with high safety and reliability.Practice has proved the system configuration is reasonable,safe and reliable and can improve the level of automation control.
