Study On The Construction Of National Image By Means Of Boundary Residents Communication

China and Vietnam are two amicable neighboring countries with adjoining mountains and rivers.Sino-Vietnam boundary residents have been contacting with each other closely for a long time.Most of the time,Chinese boundary residents play a role of "Diplomat",as the spokesmen of the China's national image.Therefore,boundary residents have always been a power of external communication.This paper is based on the theory of communication,regards the representative frontier city——Dongxing city in Guangxi province as the research site,adopts many research methods such as documentary study,investigation,case analysis,and so on.This paper aims to explore Chinese boundary residents how to better build the China's national image in the process of communicating with Vietnamese boundary residents.This paper put forward the concept of "boundary residents communication" for the first time,and define it as a kind of communication which is dominated by the interpersonal communication and is supplemented by the organizational communication.First of all,this article combs the unique geographical advantages of Dongxing,the history,present situation and future development trends of the folk communication between Sino-Vietnam boundary residents.The article thinks,the communication between Sino-Vietnam boundary resident has a long history.Boundary residents communication has many superior congenital conditions,such as geographical proximity,similar cultural background and common political vision,lay a solid foundation for the development of boundary residents communication.In the current time,boundary residents communication mainly rely on trade,cultural exchange,marriage migration,training and learning between Sino-Vietnam boundary residents,as well as travel,work,seek medical advice,visit relatives and friends by individuals or groups.Secondly,analyses are conducted on the effect of boundary residents communication from the perspective of national image——Dongxing boundary residents convey a good image of economic prosperity,rich culture,friendly people,a social image get both praise and blame,and leave a negative image of low commodity quality and dishonest merchants.Thirdly,summarizes the advantages and problems of the boundary residents communication.Compare with other communication forms,boundary residents have inborn geographical,cultural and linguistical advantages,by means of face-to-face interpersonal communication,it is beneficial to enhance the sense of intimacy and trust between the two sides.However,because of the limitation of the boundary residents,in the situation of unconscious communication,boundary residents communication is scattered and random,the communication contents is not deep,mainly conclude economic information,cultural information and social information.Lastly,by means of examining theories and exploring practices,this paper offers some suggestions of Chinese boundary residents how to build the China's national image.The author make some exploration and reflection from the perspective of government,media and boundary residents,let two kinds of strength——the official and the civil enhance cohesion,coordination and cooperation,jointly push the boundary residents communication healthy development,together shoulder the important mission to promote the national soft power and establish a good China' s national image.
