Under the background of customer demand diversification, individuation, and even custom demanded, the high quality logistics distribution service is the key for enterprise development, improving service quality and market competitiveness. Order sorting is the core operation that directly affects the cost and service quality of logistics distribution center. It is of great significance to study automatic sorting control algorithm, to improve order sorting efficiency and reduce the error rate according to the algorithm design and optimization automatic sorting system, and furthermore to improve the response speed and service quality of the logistics distribution center. The thesis includes the following research and design:Firstly, based on the "virtual window" control algorithm, the sorting process and time sequence of serial and grouping parallel automatic sorting system are analyzed with details. Subsequently, an automatic sorting control algorithm based on time is proposed, and then a series of mathematical models are established, including "order window", "order sorting start time", "picking warehouse execution time", "order window compression" and "order confluence".Secondly, the factors that affect the efficiency of the system is analyzed based on the model of automatic sorting algorithm, and the efficiency of serial and grouping parallel automatic sorting system are compared. For serial automatic sorting system, the main factor affecting the system sorting efficiency is the average quantity of orders and the sorting capabilities per unit. For grouping parallel automatically sorting system, the main factor affecting the system sorting efficiency is the average quantity of orders and group divided by orders. The condition the grouping parallel automatic sorting system completes k continuous same orders with maximum efficiency is that the order window of any grouping orders is not greater than the sum of all compressed order window of grouping orders. The efficiency of grouping parallel automatic sorting system is 1?G times of the efficiency of serial automatic sorting system (G is the number of groups).Finally, since the control algorithm based on the time parameter is not suitable for PLC control program design and implementation, we design a new type of encoder pulse count parameter to substitute the time parameter and adjust the control algorithm parameters and then get a suitable mathematical model. We develop an automatic sorting system and control algorithm program based on SIEMENS Corporation S7-300 series PLC control system.
