With the development of business, the application of information technology to business support is becoming more and more important, and information system has become a key part in business development. Founded under the approval by the Guangdong provincial government, Guangdong Vocational College of Post and Telecom is a full-time institution of higher learning affiliated to Guangdong Communication Industry Service Co., Ltd. Its educational function is supervised by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province. In 2008, Guangdong Communication Industry Service Co., Ltd. set up Guangzhou Training Branch, which is specialized in offering on-the-job training. This training branch is operated by the faculty of Guangdong Vocational College of Post and Telecom, only under a different brand name. In order to meet demands for training services, the College needs to build a business management system that allows integrated management of business opportunities, resources, projects, products, trainers, customers and quality, while realizing real-time control and resource sharing in every link of the training business chain and providing various functions such as project management and control, data collection, adding results into database, information sharing etc. As the training business develops rapidly, it brings an annual income of RMB150 million with over 500,000 person/times trained in more than 1500 training courses. To better support the training business, it is urgent to set up a management support platform. The construction and application of Guangdong Vocational College of Post and Telecom training business management system(hereinafter referred to as “the training business management system” or “the system”) can improve the working efficiency of the faculty, the management level and service quality, enable effective control over training projects, promote market expansion and facilitate business innovation and development. In a word, the system is conducive to promoting the training business of Guangdong Vocational College of Post and Telecom.This paper is about design and implementation of the system with J2 EE and other relevant technologies based on an analysis on the College's training business management requirements and a system design analysis with the use of UML unified modeling language. The training business management system includes six modules, namely, project management, cost management, income management, resource management, statistical analysis and system management. This paper will elaborate the requirement analysis, system design, implementation and testing.1. Requirement analysis. To better understand members involved in the system implementation process, we design user roles with different authorities: project manager, department head, income administrator, cost manager, resource manager, financial staff, chief of training class, college leadership and system administrator. Different roles are assigned different functions and authorities based on actual business requirements. Elaborate analyses have been conducted on the system functions, including an analysis on the business procedure of each module, project management, cost management, revenue management, resource management, statistical analysis and system management, a case analysis on user roles and an analysis on non-functional requirements to ensure the safety, efficiency and extensibility of the system.2. The overall design. The overall system design is made from 4 aspects: system function analysis, system architecture analysis, data model design and data table design. The system uses the browser-based B/S architecture and the popular J2 EE SSH technology to build the framework, and employs modeling tools for E-R diagram design and physical database design.3. Detailed design and implementation. Based on the requirement analysis and the overall system design, we have designed the system structure and objectives to be realized as well as code implementation and interface of system modules. In the end, the system has passed the system function test and the system performance test.4. Summary and Prospect. This section summaries the development and features of the system, and puts forward opinions on future improving and optimizing for the system.
