In order to draw up the excellent technology in the existing network and improve the performance of the current network,we can build a network architecture with infinite expansion and high reliability.My research group proposes a new network architecture-Vector Network(VN).VN implements the separation of the data plane from the control plane.In the data plane,the forwarding device only needs to forward the received packets.In the control plane,the forwarding device needs to be responsible for the routing information collection,data link maintenance and other network control work.Compared with the traditional Ethernet switch greatly reduces the cost of Vector Switching equipment and complexity.VN Switch is a forwarding device which is working on the VN data plane,its main function is to parse and then forward the data packet.And the work of vector network control surface undertook by other equipment,usually the computer,so that the data surface and the control surface can be separated.Less function of control surface is better,which simplifies the VN Switch.VN Switch design work includes two parts,one is the hardware circuit design;the other is FPGA hardware programming.The goal of this paper is to complete the first part work,that is VN Switch hardware design and production,which includes the following specific work:(1)Designing the implementation of the VN Switch with FPGA.According to the design objective of VN switch and previous VN Switches scheme of hardware system,I completed the design of the solution.It mainly includes:selection of the MAC module and PHY module main chip,the design of the peripheral circuit and power supply module,RJ45 module choice,circuit design and the selection and design of vector network switch modules in indirect mouth type.Completing the design of the circuit principle diagram of the VN Switch.(2)Completing the production of VN Switch.According to implementing data link layer functionality of the FPGA XC3S1400A and BCM5464SR chip in the PHY module and other chip electrical requirements,we carry on the specific layer,layout,wiring work to complete the PCB drawing and circuit board making.(3)Finishing the debugging and testing of the hardware system of the VN Switch.By the method of side welding,the system of hardware system can be tested gradually,and guaranteeing the circuit boards of each module can complete its electrical function normally.Designing the hardware system test scheme of VN Switch,and using three kinds of loopback test methods verifying the work state and function of the hardware system,verifing the validity of the design of the vector network switches,completing the vector network switches,the implementation of the work.
