With the development of the Internet technology and the large-scale increase of Internet users,the existing network system has already can't meet the application requirement of network users in network resource control,QoS,network security,which makes the study of new type network architecture become an important subject.The vector network(VN)is a new network architecture.It is based on vector address and vector switching,and realizes the advantages of concise switching and lightweight connetion of network nodes,ensuring QoS,intrinsic trust,infinite extension of vector address.By splitting the control plane and the data plane,it reduces the work of routing information collection,updating and maintaining the routing tables,and other work.VN improves the performance of data forwarding.The main function of the vector network hardware switch is to analyze the vector address and forward the data packet.It also supports some VN signaling and handles a small amount of control plane information.The VN hardware switch has the advantages of fast data processing and high resource utilization.Based on the theory of VN,this paper has done the following design and implementation:Give a improved scheme of VN hardware switch,including mult-level packet cache handling and related scheduling algorithm,the multi-level packet analysis and related scheduling algorithm,making the switch support multi-level QoS mechanism;Give the implementation scheme for VN hardware switch using Verilog in ISE,including the preprocessing module MAC,data switching processing module,signaling supporting module,output control module,and the corresponding functions are experimentally tested;Verify the functionality of each module on NetFPGA development board,and the results indicate the scheme can be transplanted to Xilinx Spartan-3 A XC3 S1400A chip.By designing and implementing the VN switch,and transplanting the scheme to FPGA chip,we achieve the prupose of low cost of VN switch with 1Gbps data forwarding rate,and lay the foundation for the further deployment and application.
