With the development of the Internet technology and the popularity of computer,education is faced with a profound reform.In addition,the traditional classroom methods cannot meet people's learning requirements anymore.In this context,a convenient and simple online learning method based on network platform is coming into people's sight,which draws wide attentions and acclaims.As the carriers of e-learning,the online learning platform has an important influence on the user experience and user satisfactory by its usability feature,which is under extensive research.This paper centers on the analysis and improvement of usability of a popular online learning platform from the angle of general user.Firstly,the background and meaning of the research are introduced.The current situation of the online learning platform and the usability of online learning platform as well as research emphasis and emphasis are elaborated through reading and summarizing literatures.Secondly,the characteristics of online learning platform including user characteristic,visual elements characteristics and interactive mode characteristics are portrayed.Combining the current usability testing methods and assessment principles,the research route is brought up.In the testing process,the usability testing experiment and in-depth interview are implemented.Through the analysis of performance metrics,investigation of think-aloud and depth feedback of subjects,the usability of the online learning platform is evaluated from visual interface,functional layout and information architecture and new assessment principles of usability are proposed.Thirdly,based on the analysis results,the improvement design is carried out through structure design,vision design and interaction design.The contrast test of the online learning platform usability before and after the improvement design is conducted by paper prototyping semantic differential scale.The results indicate that the improvement design is effective to improve the usability of the online learning platform.This paper expounds the overall process of analysis and improvement design of the usability of an online learning platform,which provides a certain basis for the congener studies.
