Recently,with the rapid development of mobile technology and the increase of people's demand for logistics services,the traditional logistics industry has gradually developed into handheld mobile.There are mainly three kinds of logistics APPs: logistics information query APP,trunk line vehicle and goods matching APP,and urban freight APP.However,designers pay too much attention to the function of product and ignore the experience of users while designing a logistics APP,resulting in many usability issues with the software,which ultimately leads to a bad experience for users.Then,the question arises: How to evaluate the usability of the logistics APP and discover the usability problems,Then,we can find out the appropriate solutions to achieve better user experience.That is not only the problem that researchers want to solve,but also the concern of social practitioners and users.The research in this paper was divided into the following three stages.In the first stage,both online survey and questionnaire survey were used to identify the research objects in this paper and the typical operational tasks in the logistics APP.In the second stage,usability questionnaires,checklists,and behavioral performance evaluation methods were used to test the usability of two APPS,i.e.Rookie Wraps and Express 100.In terms of subjective evaluation,the scores of Rookie Wraps were significantly higher than those of the Express 100 and the difference between two APPs was significant in other list and questionnaire,Except for the interaction list and the pretest.In terms of objective evaluation,the differences between two APPs about the operation time,the operation path length,and the task accuracy rate were significant,and Rookie Wraps performs better than Express 100.In summary,the usability of Express 100 was worse than Rookie Wraps.Stage 3 was aimed at studying the related interfaces of the two APPs' usability problems,We tried to put forward a design scheme to optimize the APPs based on the theory of interaction design.Then the focus group method was used to conduct the comparison experiment.The results showed that the usability of improved interface of the two APPs was increased.This study tested the usability level of two logistics APPs in a comprehensive and systematic way.Theoretically,our study proposes a relatively perfect logistics APPs usability research system,which enriches the usability research of mobile application in the field of logistics.In practice,the optimized design scheme and comparative test of the two APPs' interfaces not only improve the interfaces with serious usability problems,improve the user experience,but also inspire relevant practitioners in the field to design.
