The User Experience Design Of Web Based On Mental Model

Since the 19th century, the Internet and information technology are developing quickly, and then the human community comes into the information age. Now the internet is key of the human social progressing and an important cornerstone of the world's economic development. At the same time, the Internet has penetrated into all walks of life, and it's promoting the process of information society. Each line Industry have established a network platform services in their respective fields. "Creative design platform in China" website is set up in this context to serve for small and medium enterprises in Zhejiang.However, with the rapid development of Internet, people's needing on the websites is changing. Users not only meet the letter provided on the website information services to user-centered, people-oriented websites, the idea has become the guiding ideology of the Internet product design. Interface is the website's window, attract the user's attention. The users'needs on interface are not only functionality and aesthetics, but also more humanity.User's experience related to psychology, literature, sociology and many other factors. The mental model theory is the theory of cognitive psychology. It uses kinds of experiments to research human cognitive model and habit. Finding the requirements of user's experience is a process that research cognitive model of users'and usage. So, gradually experts take the mental models in the user experience design.This article selected the process of rebuilding the site "Creative China" as an example. We started from the research on users, and built the users'mental model by qualitative research such as interviews and surveys. We allowed users to participate in the entire design process. We analyzed users'needs and habits, and built a prototype website. In the last, we tested the prototype's usability and evaluated it's experience.
