With the social development and technical progress,video monitoring system plays an increasing important role in people’s lives.Distributed multimedia applications such as video conference,distance education and unmanned monitoring have brought great convenience and endless pleasure to people’s work and life.The biggest difference between distributed multimedia and tradition one is that the distributed multimedia allow users to acquire multimedia actively and selectively according to their requirements.With the developments of embedded technology,multimedia technology and network communication technology,the web-based monitor system has become the main development direction.The web video monitor system based on embedded streaming forward server has the most potential for development.Compared to streaming server based on PC,the embedded streaming forward server has advantages such as high stability,low cost,small size,good portability and good real-time performance.Under this situation,the streaming forward server based on ARM embedded processor HI3520D is designed and realized in this paper.The main work of the paper focus on the design and improvement of the streaming forward server monitoring system-oriented based on Hi3520D.Hi3520D is a kind of professional high-end SOC chip which is dedicated to audio and video media.In order to meet users’ needs,the fully feasible scheme is designed by using Hi3520D as the master chip.By using high-definition video network transmission technology,audio and video data forwarding is implemented.The streaming forward server program is realized with C language,all of the code are wrote adopting the modular design method,which is convenient for program debugging,maintenance and update and ensures system stability.In this paper,the current state and future trend of video ’monitoring system development are introduced firstly.Under the premise of Hi3520D selected as the main chip,the embedded development environment is built.The streaming forward server is built according to modular design.The user command is designed based on HTTP protocol.The AVI function is achieved.Audio and video data receiving and forwarding of the server are implemented by network programming.Finally,the system is improved and perfected by increasing streaming forward server registering scheme,user management and power failure and disconnection treatment.The system test of the streaming forward server is performed by setting up the test environment.The test results are analyzed,which verifies the effectiveness of the designed streaming forward server.
