With the rapid development of Internet Technology, many applications that based on IP technology are moving to broadband, real-time and multimedia etc. The Streaming Media Technology is a typical example, used to achieve the real-time interactive of multimedia. And the Streaming Media synchronization control is one of key technologies to realize the above-mentioned functions requirement.Obviously, multimedia synchronization is a special and important quality of service (QoS) indexes in multimedia communication systems. Synchronous control has a direct impact on the streaming media playback quality. And the users can directly feel the effects of synchronization. Multimedia synchronization refers to the data's producer, transmission, play and so on. It can be controlled in transmitter, network or receiver. By analyzing to the synchronization requirements, the key factors which affect the synchronization and other problems, this thesis provides an audio-video synchronization solution scheme which is based on the real-time transmission protocol (RTP), according to the discussion on the intra-media and inter-media synchronization.In the information source, it ensures that audio-video streaming is captured, coded and sent synchronously, building basis for synchronization. In sink, it uses the synchronization method based on playback time bar. Use the buffer control to discuss the intra-media synchronization and the relative timestamp to control the inter-media synchronization. Meanwhile, this scheme, which is combined with the adaptive bandwidth technology to feedback the synchronization situation, does the properly flow control.Generally, the scheme not only makes sure the audio-video synchronization in streaming media system, and also deals with the contradiction between the synchronization quality and the waiting time. It provides a new way to realize synchronization in video conference and Video-on-Demand. And it is implemented on the typical Streaming Media system. Based on the test results, it can conclude that the scheme has achieved fine effect.
