The oceans play an important role in controlling global climate change and environmental change,which is reflected clearly in deep-sea sedimentary records.Marine particulate matter has much biological,physical and chemical information recorded during its formation,variation and subsidence,which makes it a good material for the study of marine biogeochemistry.Sediment trap is a kind of long-term sampling device that collects subsidence particles on the seabed,which has become an indispensable means for the study of fluxes of marine particulate matter.In this paper,a time-series sediment trap control system is designed,aiming at the relative equipments which are not mature in our country.In this paper,according to the working principle of the time-series sediment trap,we designed the hardware and software of the control system.This allows the equipment to work for up to one year,automatically switching the sample bottle underwater and collecting data on the temperature,pressure and inclination of the equipment,which will help the researcher to better interpret the sample.A PC interface designed to facilitate the operation of the device.In this paper,the MSP430 processor of Texas Instruments is used as the core,and the embedded hardware system is composed of the power module,the clock module,the motor drive module,the position detection module,the sensor data acquisition circuit and the memory module.We do a lowpower design in the module selection and program design.The reliability of system operation is ensured by the position detection feedback information.Software design divides into two parts: embedded software and host computer software.Embedded software design includes motor control and adjustment procedures,the sensor data acquisition and storage procedures,work mode switching procedures.PC and lower computer through the serial port to transfer data.The host computer software to achieve the main mode of operation of the system configuration and the lower computer to store data playback function.Finally,the test shows that the modules work properly,the system is stable,meets the design requirements.
