The mass commercial application of 3G/LTE technology andthe multi-service rich media explosive volume growth make the network IP process greatly accelerated, which urgently needs a transfer technology based on packet switching to be used for carrying effectively.PTN technology combines with data-based efficient packet switching features,as well as the transmission characteristics of guaranteed connection-oriented technology, telecommunication level protection and OAM functions, thus becoming the preferred technology of the new generation of IP-based metropolitan area transport network. The paper expounds the origin of PTN technology and the development history of its technical standards,as well as the research purpose and significance of the paper. The theoretical basis of PTNare analyzed, such as PWE3 technology,OAM technology,QoS technology, synchronization technology and network protection technology. The paper analyzes the network situation of metropolitan area transport network of Chenzhou Mobile and put forward the existing problemsputs of PTN metropolitan area transport network. The service prediction has been carried on and the design and implementation plan of PTN metropolitan area transport network of Chenzhou Mobile is achieved, focusing on the design of network topology structure.Meanwhile, the paper puts forward such implementation plans as PTN equipment type selection, optical power calculation, network protection,Qos strategy implementation.network management system setting and clock synchronization. In the end,the system performance indexes such as TDM services carrying,Ethernet services carrying,Multiport Qos functions. From the test results,we can see that the construction has reached the expected aim.
