Analysis The Literature Of Chinese Library And Information Science Based On Scientometrics

Since 1978,the Chinese Academy of Sciences decided to try out the integration of Library and Information Sciences(LIS),from this time the name that LIS begins to be widely used.Now after nearly 40 years of history,LIS discipline has undergone a rapid development stage,the domestic scholars have never stopped to explore in the field of LIS,they contributed significantly for the construction of library resources,the theory innovation of LIS,development education of the LIS,improve the technology of the LIS,enhance the quality of LIS journals,and accumulated a large number of research results,so that the Library and Information Cause got a substaintial development.However,with the grandness of discipline power and the growth of research results,is urgently needed to examine the status of this discipline scientifically,in particular that take advantage of this discipline in the research methods,using scientific methods to obtain a quantitative analysis results,an objective understanding of the current situation of the discipline,then guide the way forward.This paper,which is in the basic data of articles published by 17 kinds of journals published during 2009-2013 in the field of Library and Information Science in CSSCI database,based on Scientometrics,by using the methods such as social network analysis and visualization tools Pajek to conduct a system analysis on the past five years in the field of LIS form aspects of journals performance,institution distribution,author distribution,intensity of co-author,research focus and reference analysis.There are some finds as follows:In general the best performing Chinese journals in the field of LIS are,in order,Journal of Library Science in China,Journal of Academic Libraries,Library and Information Service,Journal of the China Society for Scientific and Technical Information,among them the Journal of Library Science in China is the most prominent in terms of performance,belongs to the" leader "status in the field of LIS.In addition,the impact factor is significantly associated with the average number of citations per article;Actually,the impact factor is a special kind of the average number of citations per article.And by comparison,the performance of LIS Journals relatively stable.As a leading institution of Library and information Science in China,Wuhan University is remaining ahead of others on numbers of published papers and cited times;Wang Zhijin,Qiu Junping and Zhang Xiaolin are the most authoritative authors in the field of LIS;Authors in the field of Library and information Science in China are mainly from colleges and universities,distributing more in province of Beijing,Jiangsu,Guangdong and Hubei,in which one region's number of published papers at roughly is twice as many authors,while there are less authors in west region;The co-authors are mainly in one institution and less internationally;Research of LIS in recent 5 years focus on the basic theory and method of LIS,knowledge management and service,enterprise competitive intelligence,journal evaluation&hot discovery,intellectual property issues and technical issues about digital library,semantic web;Types of references mainly are papers and books.After more than ten years of development,about the 'intellectual property issues and technical issues about digital library','knowledge management and service',and 'basic theory and method of LIS' are still the research focus in the field of Chinese LIS;Although still there are many scholars are studying the bibliography,network information retrieval,and bibliometrics,but now they are no longer a major research focus;Informetrics,enterprise competitive intelligence,semantic web became the main research focus.Through the comparative analysis of this paper,make readers clear understanding the concrete strength and change of journals,institutions,and author in the field of LIS,clearing the research focus,reference type,intensity of co-author and so on in the field of LIS,finally as a final reference for the authors study and work in the field of LIS to guide the way forward.
