History education plays important role in quality-oriented education. It plays great functions in inheriting traditional culture, cultivating national sense of belonging and sense of pride and patriotism education. Shih Chi is representative works of Chinese traditional history education, it plays great role in promoting the dissemination of traditional culture. However, the contents of history education are far away from the realistic life with large volume. In addition, it is boring without being required in school entrance examination. In this case, the learning enthusiasm of students is not high and educational effect is poor. Educational games can integrate knowledge education and games. It is conversant to the adolescents who enjoy playing games. It can effectively solve the problem that students are not interested in the educational contents. It can increase students' initiative to learn and reduce the degree of difficulty in the process of knowledge dissemination through particular game design. This offers solution for the problems of being far away from the realistic life, complexity and boredom. The game design based on flow theory can prominently increase attraction of games to players. If this theory is applied in educational games, students can be guided to actively and effectively accept the knowledge in educational games.Through researching flow theory, memory-type knowledge education method, educational games and the contents structure of Shih Chi, this paper researches the method of simply and effectively imparting the main knowledge contents to game players through an educational game based on flow theory. After playing the game, the players can memorize the major figures and incidents in the historical document as though the players have read it for several times. Through the analysis and research on Shih Chi, this paper creatively puts forward a game model of history education which can be popularized to use. Through extracting the major figures, incidents and their relations in historical document and applying them in game playing rules, game players can rebuild the relations among the major figures and incidents in the game. In this way, the game players can know and even be familiar with the figures and incidents. Based on this method, this paper designs and develops a card game with the material of Han Aristocratic Family—one of the aristocratic families in Shih Chi. Through the method of contrast experiment, this paper makes experimental analysis on the learning effect of the game.
