M-DSP is a high-performance Digital Signal Processor chip, which is independently developed by my university, and has multiple processing cores, it's working frequency can reach 1GHz. The chip requires very wide transmission bandwidth. So, how to implement efficient and fast data transmission between DSP core and peripheral equipment has become the key to playing powerful computing capacity and improving the overall quality of the chip. This article has realized high-speed interconnection between M-DSP core and off-chip's device with PCI Express. It satisfied efficient and fast data transmission requirements. The main work are as follows.1. Getting to konw the M-DSP processor architecture in detail and analysing the M-DSP processor chip interconnection requirements. Thoroughly studying serial PCI Express protocol and various interfaces protocol between components. This paper has designed the basic structure of PCI Express system according to different interface protocols and design requirements.2. This paper has designed the data transfer bridge between AXI interface and core interconnection network CrossNet data interface, and configure transfer bridge between DBI interface and the core interconnection network CrossNet configuration interface. Transforming bridge has realized conversion between different protocols and clock domain. Then, PCI Express system interconnection design has been realized by designing the configure channel, the data channel, clock and reset network and interrupt mechanism. And a low power management machanism has also been designed. these design extended operating mode, the range of application and improved the efficiency energy ratio of the chip.3. Module level and system level verification environment were build respectively. The correctness of the various module in PCI Express system has been verified through the function point and coverage-driven verification. And the completeness of coordination work between PCI Express system and the core has beeb verified. Finally, synthesizing PCI Express top-module on 40 nm process by using the DC synthesis tool. The result shows that PCI Express interconnection structure in M-DSP has been successfully implemented, and the design can meet the requirements of M-DSP's performance, area and power consumption.
